Biography
Ryan A. Miller
Lance Corporal Ryan A. Miller was born 9 October 1986. He enlisted in the United States Marine Corps on 14 February 2005, at Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Parris Island, South Carolina. Upon his graduation on May 13, 2005, he was meritoriously promoted to the rank of Private First Class. He went on to attend the School of Infantry at Camp Geiger, North Carolina.
PFC Miller reported to Lima Company, 3d Battalion, 3d Marines, on 6 August 2005 and was promoted to Lance Corporal in December 2005. He deployed to Iraq in support of Operation IRAQI FREEDOM in March 2006 and was killed in action on September 14, 2006.
His awards include the Purple Heart, the National Defense Service Medal, the Iraq Campaign Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal and the Sea Service Deployment Ribbon. He is survived by his mother and father.
