Lt. Col. Nathan I. Nastase, the Battalion Commander with 3rd Battalion, 3rd Marines, stands as community leaders arrive in Karmah, Iraq on December 1, 2007. The U.S. Marines with 3rd Battalion, 3rd Marines attend a public event led by community leaders to showcase growth within the city in order to set an example for other communities to follow. Regimental Combat Team 6 is deployed with Multi National Forces-West in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom in the Al Anbar Province of Iraq to develop Iraqi Security Forces, facilitate the development of official rule of law through democratic reforms, and continue the development of a market based economy centered on Iraqi reconstruction.
